I'm In Love With a Monster is a single by Fifth Harmony released in 2015 for the soundtrack of Hotel Transylvania 2. The music video for the track was released in August 2015 and has garnered over 75 million views.
The song is also apart of the deluxe edition of Fifth Harmony's debut album Reflection.
It was featured in the trailer for the movie, and can be heard in the movie as well, which was released on September 25, 2015. "Worth It" , another single by Fifth Harmony released in 2015, can also be heard in the movie.
Critical Reception[]
The song received mostly positive reviews from music critics. From MTV, Christina Garibaldi complimented the production and "its deep, heavy beats, trombones and drums over an almost creepy base." Robbie Daw, from Idolator, pointed out the resemblance to 1960s girl groups, such as the Supremes and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and said that "Fifth Harmony's vocal ability shine brightly." Writing for fuse, Jeff Benjamin compared the "booming tuba" to the 1960s track, "Big Spender." From PopCrush, Samantha Vicenty noted the difference of sound compared to the group's album, Reflection, and stated that, "tone-wise, the lighthearted track does seem a perfect fit for the movie." Phillip Picardi, from Teen Vogue, wrote that the song is "catchy and upbeat, with a nod to the '60s — a cross between early Pussycat Dolls and The Supremes."
